Tour guiding can be so much fun for the right people. We are often training and hiring as our business is expanding.

Tour Guide Position – All Public Tours

Our team is like a family. All of our team members are passionate, energetic, RELIABLE, flexible and fun. A flexible schedule is a must. This is a great job for retired folks – much like a paid docent position – lots of fun! Position is part time & some weeks are busier than others.

About You:

Do you know and love Santa Barbara? Do you like to eat and socialize? Are you from SB or been here awhile?  Are you reliable and have a flexible schedule? Maybe retired, independently wealthy and/or just want a little fun $?

If this sounds like you, then this might be the job for you and please read on!

Ideal tour guides are:

• Punctual
• Fun, engaging, out-going and love people and Santa Barbara
• Live close to/in the Santa Barbara area and are not leaving anytime soon and have preferably lived here awhile
• Know how to email, text, take pics and make phone calls on their smartphone
• Be reliable and have reliable transportation
• Coach-able, easily accepts direction, and expertly follows detailed instructions
• Looking for part time/occasional work (weekday and some weekends – every week is different!)
• Self-employed individuals and/or flexible schedules preferred
• Are available during the day some weekdays and some weekends (hours are about 11:30-3:30ish)
• THIS JOBS IS NOT IDEAL FOR A SUMMER GIG, training takes awhile

More about the Tours:

Walking Tours are a wonderful opportunity to show guests around our beautiful city and also feed them.

If you are friendly, good with time, able to learn, have a sense of humor and can walk, then this might be a good fit for you. Currently we offer one to four tours daily. Tours are mostly offered between 11:30am-4:00pm although they sometimes range. We have a great training process that offers a training stipend while you ramp up. Once you are fully trained your pay goes up you will earn gratuities. We believe in open communication. If at any point you or Taste SB do not feel you are the right fit for the position, please communicate with us as we will with you. This is not the right job for everyone and that is ok, we don’t want to waste anyone’s time.
