People ask when the best time to visit Santa Barbara is and the fact of the matter is, you never really know what the weather will be like.
Have you ever heard of grey may? Well, sometimes SB has it and sometimes, we don’t. You think it’s gonna rain? Maybe, but then again, maybe not. June gloom? Yup, that might also be SB.
Then again, maybe not
For those of you who don’t know, Santa Barbara has an estimated 333 days of sunshine a year! Which means, you can spend a lot of time outdoors. If the sun isn’t out, you can still spend time outdoors.
May in Santa Barbara…
Has a lot to offer. Kicking off on May 3 with the Polo. Even if you don’t regularly watch Polo, it is fun to go to sometimes, and the Polo season just began. . May the 4th be with you at Santa Barbara’s Zoo Roar and Poor. , followed by Cinco de Mayo. There is always a cinco de mayo something going on. We have a ton of mexican and latin culture and a ton of great taquerias hence the Original Taco Tour.
Restaurant week ran into the first week of May.
Mother’s day – there are plenty if fun filled food activities to do with mom. Like any of our wonderful tours.
May 13 – 19 is Taste of Santa Barbara (no relation) Restaurant Week, offer a lot of different wine and food events.
Memorial day weekend always has iModannari going on at the Mission. Chalk art, food, music and fun. This is a yearly favorite.
Also, kicking off in May is Sipping on the Sea at Santa Barbara Sailing Center. Every third Thursday of the month from May through October.
Since the weather is almost always a crap shoot everywhere, go ahead, plan a trip to Santa Barbara in May. Take a drive or stay for the weekend, do some tours and take advantage of of the other awesome things May in Santa Barbara has to offer. Especially if you do it before Memorial Day weekend, when the prices go up and stay up until Labor Day.
