If you are a sunshine kind of person, then you are in luck because Santa Barbara averages 300 days of sunshine a year. So, the question of when the best time to visit Santa Barbara really depends on what you are into.

Do you like sunshine and wine?

Do you prefer cooler days with a change of rain and rays of blue skies?

Do you like history and visiting very old historical buildings?

Santa Barbara is known for it’s beaches…

We are more than just our summer beaches. A winter beach walk isn’t so bad.

The beach skies and sunsets never, ever get old. They are always magical.

Do you like food?

If you like food, then you are in luck, because Santa Barbra has something like 400 restaurant (I didn’t say they were all good).

The last winery count I saw was something like 283 wineries!

We have an Alpaca Farm that offers tours and overlooks the ocean.

If you are into walking and gardens then Lotusland may be for you!

We have one of the cutest and easiest, little zoo’s.  With my favorite animal.

We have Santa Barbara International Film Festival in the January/February.

We have fun & delicious food tours.

We have free historical walking tours.

We have so many wine tour companies. I don’t even know where to begin. Ok, lies, I do. Sustainable is one of our faves.

We have A LOT of tacos and we LOVE tacos.

So many tacos, we had to create our very own (and the very first) downtown taco trail tour.

We have margaritas and mocktails that are good for the whole family.

The real question is, when isn’t it a good time to visit Santa Barbara?!
