We love tacos so much that we HAD to create our very own Downtown Santa Barbara Taco Tour!
Spending day in and day out in downtown, we started to notice just how many taquerias there were downtown. So, many delicious taquerias, We knew long ago, that we were going have to create a tour specifically dedicated to these taquerias and shine a very large spotlight on the downtown SB Taco scene. We would have to create a downtown Santa Barbara Walking Taco Trail Tour.
So that’s how the Santa Barbara taco tour began…
I mean, I have always loved a good taco. Years ago, I was like man, we need more than just a list for a taco trail, we NEED at least one taco tour in Downtown Santa Barbara. A tour, dedicated in it’s entirety to tacos. I started to wonder if I was the only one who felt that way, so on our OG downtown tour, we started surveying guests to see if they too love tacos as much as we do.
We found out that, some fascinating things!
Some people DO NOT like tacos….
HOWEVER…..
The vast majority of people do LOVE tacos (thank god) and expressed uber excitement for a taco centric tour! My taco loving heart was thrilled and so relieved to hear that so many people LOVE tacos too.
I had been wanting to start my very own taco tour trail thing, for so many years and now others wanted to eat my taco trail. WOOHOOOOOOOOOO, Cheers to that my friends. Cheers to that.
The next questions were obvious…
What is the right amount of tacos?
How many tacos do you think you could eat on a 3.5 hour tour?
Like, how many tacos is too many?
Is there such a thing as too many tacos? The answer is yes, there can be too many tacos.
The answers varied from person to person. Some people said they could eat 2-4 tacos and a few thought they’d be able to eat like 50 tacos. We have yet to see anyone eat 50 tacos, but we have seen a guest eat something like 12. He ate his tacos, ALL the chips and salsa and drank all the drinks. He then ate the tacos that some of us could not finish, he was like a taco machine. I have never seen anything like it and may not want to see anything like it again. My stomach hurts just thinking about it.
Oh you wanna know where we go?
Come on a tour and you will find out!
Spoiler Alert: We do not visit La Superica on the tour, but do encourage you to experience it for yourself…
So Much “Research”
By research I mean eating. And we did years of research a LOT of local taquerias. Trying out tacos, taquitos, chips, salsa (because eating tacos is what local Santa Barbarians do!). We finally felt that we found just the right mix. The salsas. The chips. The drinks.
And in November 2022, the taco tour trail experience thing officially launched…
And now our taco trail tour can be experienced by all. This tour is just the beginning of our Ode to the taco 🌮🌮🌮
Don’t forget that we can also create customized experiences so they fit your group perfectly!
Without further ado, go book your taco tour stat.
